Evaluation of social, communication, and learning skills
Individual therapy
Outreach consultation
The purpose of the COMPASS Program Planning Evaluation is to help caregivers understand how
their child's autism spectrum disorder affects their child's learning
and development, prioritize skills for meaningful outcomes, understand
the relationships between the challenges that result from autism
and the supports that can offset these challenges, and use an ongoing
process to develop coordinated learning and therapeutic programs
using a competency-based approach. The COMPASS Program Planning
Evaluation lasts about 1 ½ hours to 2 hours. An extended evaluation
that lasts about 3 hours is also available. Depending on the results
of this COMPASS evaluation, caregivers and their child may also
participate in individual or family sessions designed to address
challenges identified in the assessment. Caregivers are invited
to bring other family members. Program Planning Evaluations also
have been set up with caregivers, teachers, and other pre-existing
service providers such as Speech/Language Therapists or Occupational
Therapists.
