This is a service to assist families in
understanding and developing an Individual Education Program (IEP)
and the IEP process. The IEP consult may be helpful prior to the
initial IEP, when revisiting the IEP, or for ESY (Extended School
Year) services. The session will focus on
information about IEPs
the parts of an IEP
the IEP process
the Individuals with Disabilities Education
Act (IDEA)
important information for each child
present levels of performance
behavior plans
specially designed instruction
related services
During the session, the family may present
their concerns which can then be addressed and outlined. A plan
will be developed covering important topics and information to be
addressed at the IEP meeting. The STAR report that your child received
will also be used to help families understand how to use the report
for parts of an IEP. The goal of this session is for the parent
or caregiver to have a plan for the IEP meeting. This one time consultation
lasts up to 60 minutes.
